CamView — Privacy Policy

CamView does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal data. CamView is a viewer for the CCTV/DVR/NVR cameras you already own. It runs entirely on your Apple TV.

What we don't do

• No account or sign-up — you never give us any information.
• No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
• No cloud servers — CamView has no backend of its own.

Your cameras and credentials

• Video connects directly from your Apple TV to your cameras/DVR on your local network (or a network address you provide). That video is never sent to us or any third party.
• Your camera/DVR settings are stored only on your device. The camera password is stored in the device's secure Apple Keychain.

Demo mode

The optional "Demo mode" plays publicly available sample video streams over the internet so you can try the app without a camera. No personal data is collected when using demo mode.

Set up from your phone

When you open "Set up from your phone", your Apple TV briefly runs a small web page on your own Wi-Fi so you can type your recorder details on your phone. It only works on your local network, is protected by a one-time code shown on your TV, and stops as soon as you leave that screen. Nothing is sent to us or to any cloud service.

Top Shelf, motion and Siri

Camera snapshots for the Apple TV Top Shelf are saved only on your Apple TV. Motion events are read directly from your own recorder while CamView is open. Siri shortcuts use Apple's on-device App Intents. None of this leaves your network or reaches us.

Tips

CamView offers optional tips through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Tips unlock nothing, and the app is fully free without them.

Children's privacy

CamView is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
